A Bit About Marika
I have been a student for most of my life and career. Most notably, I have earned a BA in Computer Science and Theatre Production/Acting, as well as a BS in Physics/Astronomy and Mechanical Engineering. I am currently working toward my MSc and PhD in Astronomy and Graduate Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
My passion for tutoring began as an elementary school student, supporting younger students and my younger siblings with math and reading. In the 20+ years since, my experiences has expanded to include K-12 Math and Science, ACT/SAT Prep, as well as college level Math, Physics, Engineering, and Astronomy. While typically focusing on STEM topics, I am well versed in Reading/Writing support as well. Additionally, I enjoy working with students of all levels of confidence and ability.
In recent years, students of all ages have shown and increased need for access to virtual academic support. My background in tech has provided me with the ability to support students remotely. With both group workshops and individualized sessions, I make sure to engage students and classrooms, using an interactive learning style - meeting the student where they are and guiding them to the tools to their own success.
